Integration with School Chimes

Import

To import data from School Chimes, Skolaris connects via a secure channel to their API using the Institude ID and an access token obtained from School Chimes.

Open the Import screen via the main navigation's Data section. Click Import from MIS, then the School Chimes icon.

Enter the Institute ID of your school and the Access Token obtained from School Chimes.

Click Import to start the import.

After your data has been imported, don't forget to configure your class groups and teachers before proceeding with the timetable creation.

What data does Skolaris import?

Skolaris only downloads data relevant to the timetable creation. These are namely:

  • School name
  • List of subjects
  • List of staff (aka Teachers) marked as teaching staff containing:
    • Code
    • First name

  • List of classes (aka year groups in Skolaris)
  • List of sections (aka class groups) including
    • Section name
    • Section staff (aka class teacher)
    • Number of students

  • List of section subjects (aka courses) with the number of instances (aka lessons)
